The controller board is fired up by a Parallax ''Propeller'' Microcontroller. It seams to be 'Overkill' for such a simple task, but

- I still had some in my spare parts box

- I am able to program these 'beasts'

- built-in are all kinds of interfaces which you might need (including VGA monitor control and keyboard connection)
